Date night at the office

Yes, That is what Randy and I did last night for our date. We went down to the office and reconciled the office accounts. Wahoo right? Well, it was a Wahoo and fantastic night.

I do the book keeping for the office now (with Randy holding my hand), and any chance I can get learn how to do this task I am going to take it. This is the second time we have gotten a sitter and headed down to the office to do work. I can totally justify calling it a date: We are doing it TOGETHER, I have to practice patience with Randy when he shows me how to do something, and he has to practice patience with me as I listen, learn, then do it my way ( He loves me). Our communication skills have to be positive and encouraging or it is a total waist of time, ie..I end up crying and he ends up frustrated... Not a good date night! We have a good time together and our list of office tasks has been shortened. That equals less stress and more family time, we enjoy each other's company doing anything, and when we were done we grabbed dinner (Cafe Rio) and head home for a romantic meal in front of the TV watching the Olympics. Go USA!!

He has a lot of trust in me to do my job, and I am happy he can trust me.  I have a lot more to learn so we will most likely be doing it next weekend.   

I really enjoy working with Randy, It is hard for me to call him Dr Lomax, I smile and giggle in my head when I say it. I AM the one that takes care of him, our house and children. I should have him call my title: Amazing wife Lomax! I enjoy helping behind the scenes so he can focus on taking care of his patients. I love being at the office when he is seeing patients. I love listening to him interact with his employees and patients. I enjoy getting his emails that he signs "Boss" at the end...It makes me smile. I am so lucky to be his wife! I mean Amazing wife...I have to use the title. He is a good doctor and an amazing man!

I do look forward to a non work date night to go see "Wicked" in a few weeks.

Road Trip

This last weekend my sister Sara and I went up to Utah to witness our sister Christine and her hubby JR be sealed in the Mt Timpanogos temple.

The ride up was so fun. It has been a long time since my sister and I spent that much time together without kids and hubbies. The ride went by fast as we talked and talked and talked the 3 1/2 hours.

Our parents greeted us with yummy sandwiches and listening ears as we talked and talked some more.

The Sealing ceremony was such a beautiful experience for all who attended. I got emotional seeing my brother's and sister's, grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins in the room. It was a small glimpse of heaven for me!
 I am so happy for Christine and JR. They are am amazing family, and are so blessed to have each other. I am blessed to have them in my life. I love knowing that Randy and I have made the same covenants and will be together after this life. I find comfort in that knowledge.

After the ceremony we all went to their house for a potluck and to visit ( talk and talk and talk). Sara and I were planning on leaving right after, but the snow warning in Beaver changed our plans and we decided to stay another day. My parents were thrilled. We enjoyed a yummy Mexican dinner out, and a great core workout of laughing playing games till late.  It was nice to be with my parents with out kiddos.

The next morning we enjoyed more time with mom and dad then packed up and headed home. I am so blessed to be apart of such an amazing family. I really enjoyed the drive time with my sister! She is amazing and I am so happy to have her close.

Maryn's dance recital 2011

Maryn has loved dancing this year. 

She has been involved in two classes, tap and ballet combo and a music and movement. 

She enjoyed doing across the floor with candy canes, dancing with feather dusters, pretending to be animals, and so many other fun things.

This is her first structured class outside of preschool, and her excitement to dance was so cute. With that said, there have been a few challenges to overcome.

I learned really fast that she would not dance if we were late. (Being on time is not my strong suit). She would become overwhelmed with everyone looking at her. She would break down in tears and would rather take a nap than dance. Sad! 

She HAD to have her shoes!!  Her dance bag was always in the car, and sometimes it would be taken out of the car without me knowing. So, when it came to class we would get there early (one problem solved), leotard on, hair up, but no dance bag. No dance bag, no shoes! She would get so sad! There were shoes in the lost and found she could use, but they were not HER shoes. No dance today.  Sad...again!!

She is my little princess. She has her own little mind that can't be changed. For being three and adorable I love it and happy to help her through it. 

 Besides the late and shoe issues, she had a wonderful time and is excited for next year.

Roaches are a huge problem here in Sin City. So much so, we look forward to the bug man coming every other month!
It is warming up and the roaches are coming!!!

Yes! They are dead!

These pesky pest are so gross to look at, but I am happy to look at a pile of dead ones than one live one running across my kitchen floor!

Happy Mother's Day--You will need a bra for this one.

This Mother's day has been full of laughs and firsts.

I woke up to Mason and Maryn coming into my bed to give me Mother's day kisses and squeezes. Randy helped them watch a show so we could sleep longer. Around 9am, I rolled out of bed feeling so rested and refreshed. Good thing, because Mason had a surprise for me!

Mason came in with glasses from a 3D movie and told me to put them on. He then told me he had a Mother's day obstacle course. Randy walked in with a smile. I asked if I needed a bra he said Yep.  I laughed and said okay. Here is what I got to do.

1. Jump rope 5 times
2. Jump rope 5 times again with Maryn throwing balls at me

3. Pass the punching green fists (Mason punching me)

4. Jump over the animals.
5. Sit on the Mother's Day throne. (Dora is waiting for me with a "necklace")

Of course I had Randy film me because this is a first, and I have proof that I was an awesome mom!!

When I came down stairs I was surprised to find a happy Mother's Day banner across our counter top and presents to open. The kiddos love every second celebrating me. I loved it too. Randy made a yummy breakfast to order, and got the kids ready for church. (That made my day right there!)

 I love being a mom to these amazing kiddos.

Flag Football Colts

 Mason started flag football this year and he is loving it! He is enjoying learning the game and running fast! He has entered the world of professional football by having his flag football team be the Colts. He has learned the other team names and loves to talk football with his his friends at school. I love it when he really enjoys learning something new.

Happy Birthday Grandma and Grandpa Lomax

We are getting ready to move into our house. Grandma and Grandpa Lomax are in town to make sure everything goes smooth with our loan. We love having them here even if it is for a few days. We especially enjoyed this trip...we celebrated two birthdays! We saved Grandma Lomax's birthday gift knowing they would be coming down, and  Grandpa's day was a few weeks ago. I couldn't resist making Grandma her favorite coconut cake and Grandpa an angle food cake. Grandma's was much better! Sorry Grandpa!

Diamond Backs

 Mason is starting his first Spring team with Mountain Ridge Baseball. Opening day was a sight. Loud music, the mayor, and the field was covered with 4 year old t-ball to 14 year old baseball players. Randy is assistant coaching along the side of our favorite coach Todd. Randy got this great pic of Mason acting tough! The highlight of the year was Mason playing with his friends Hayden, Bubby, Jordan, and Carter. We hope next year we can get the boys together to play again.

JIMMER!!!!

Mason and I went to the Mountain West tournament to watch Jimmer Fredette and the BYU Cougars play. Mason was really excited about! I took him out of school for the game. He was hesitant about missing his Kindergarten assignments, but being the fantastic mom that I am, I talked him out of staying at school, and playing hooky for a b-ball game.

We had good seats thanks to a family friend who was needing someone to use his tickets. Randy was bummed he couldn't make it to the afternoon game with us. He was thrilled going to the evening game!

The game itself was horrible.
Jimmer couldn't make a shot and the fan's around us were very obnoxious. 

Mason wasn't too happy about the cougs playing either.
 He actually couldn't stand how loud it was. I should say how loud I was. He's not that annoyed with his mom's cheering right? I thought it was pretty funny!

He was happy to eat sour gummy worms. 

 The game ended with a win and we were both ready to go home. 

I loved having a Mason and Mommy date.

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss

My Kiddos celebrated Dr Suess' birthday in school today.
 It was fun to see them in their hats as I picked them up !
We love Dr Seuss! His books have been so much fun for our family. They are often quoted when we talk about colors, counting, losing teeth, scary pants, having stars upon thars, and eating green eggs and ham.
